Why A Waterbase Workshop?

Why A Waterbase Workshop?

Hey you. Yes, you. Sitting there complacent and comfortable in this industry.

You’ve been around. Trade shows. Networking events. Supplier office demos. Hopefully, a Shirt Lab or two (It’s not too late to register for Shirt Lab Atlanta! September 28!)

So why would you want to travel to SGIA’s Waterbase Camp in Sacramento California on September 20-21, 2020?

Here’s Why

Well for starters, it’s going to be an amazing event. The host shop is Motion Textile in Sacramento, which is one of the most organized and cleanest shops in the industry. Just going there is going to be worth the trip.

Then there’s the networking. The top minds in the industry are going to be present. Most will be in the audience, just like you.

Why?

Well, they have shops to run too. This event is about learning and mastering our craft.

See that shiny thing over on the horizon? That’s another brass ring for you to reach in this industry. No matter what you know, or what you think you know, there is always more to learn. Always.

I certainly don’t have all the answers. Guess what? I’m going to get some at the WB Camp. You could too.

Here’s the Line-Up

Brett Bowden with Printed Threads will be the host of the two-day event and guide everyone through the discussions.

With most industry consumable demos or workshops, they are concentrated with showing one product line. What makes this Waterbase Camp unique is that multiple companies, with multiple products, are being highlighted. They’ll be discussing different water-based ink types, fabric considerations, art preparation practices, technology integration and more.

Compare and contrast right there! Hear success stories with people using the actual products, with the demonstration in a working shop!

Who is speaking? It’s only a whos-who of the industry:

Michelle Moxley, Director of Innovation, M&R Equipment

Danny Gruninger, General Manager, Denver Print House

Jesse Martinez, Screen Printing and DTG Sales Manager, Matsui International

Beppe Quaglia, CEO, Virus Inks

Tom Davenport, Founder, Motion Textile

Johnny Shell, Vice President, Technology & Training,

Plus, SGIA will have additional speakers from Bella+Canvas, SanMar, and SPSI.

What To Do If You Don’t Go

Ever hear of FOMO?

That’s the “Fear of Missing Out”. You will see pictures and videos of the event. You will hear amazing stories of how fun and educational it was. You can probably read all about it a week later after I write about it.

But what you won’t have is the knowledge or the experience. Your skill won’t improve. Industry connections and friends won’t be gained.

Remember “Time Spent = Value Added”.

You gain nothing by doing nothing. Don’t be that loner.
